Satin Imperfection Shirt
The Imperfection Shirt has become a new staple for SATORU SASAKI. This design has been part of the collection since the men's first season. I feel a sense of discomfort with the modern rationalistic idea that only clean and perfect things are acceptable, and I designed this shirt hoping to change that perception through clothing. The stitching is intentionally zigzagged, and the placket is a half-fly front, creating an unfinished impression. The pocket is also subtly tilted and fastened. This intricate stitch work is designed directly into the pattern, making it a very time-consuming design for the factory to sew exactly as specified. However, there will be slight individual variations in the stitching. I believe that by embracing and even enjoying these minor differences, we can move closer to the goal I mentioned above, which is why I incorporated this design. The fabric is a drape material made from spun cupro in the warp and nylon in the weft, offering the luster of cupro and a natural texture despite being spun. It is also hand-washable.
