TYPEWRITER IMPERFECTION SHIRT
The Imperfection Shirt has become a new staple for SATORU SASAKI. This design has been part of the men's collection since the first season. I felt a sense of unease with the modern rationalistic idea that only clean and perfect things are acceptable, and I designed this shirt with the hope that I could change that way of thinking through clothing. The stitching is intentionally meandering, and the placket is a half-hidden placket, giving it an unfinished look. The pocket is also subtly tilted and fastened. This stitching work is incorporated into the pattern, making it a very time-consuming design for the factory to sew according to the pattern. However, each piece will have slight variations in the stitching. I believe that by enjoying or accepting these variations, we can get closer to the goal I mentioned above, which is why I created this design. The material is a 60-count high-density typewriter fabric made from rare, long-staple, high-grade organic cotton. The unique slipperiness of Indian cotton creates a supple drape, making it a soft, lustrous, and elegant material.
